David was born in Portsmouth, where at an early age he developed an interest in Puppets and the Theatre.

He became a member of many of the local Musical Theatre companies......
The Solent Theatre Company and Stage One
South Downs Musical Society
Hayling Operatic Society
Bognor Operatic Society
And The Portsmouth Players.

He trained as a Stage Manager at South Downs College on the Hampshire Specialist Drama Course , where he specialized in wardrobe and props.
